Training with Balance
All Around Horsemanship Training
National Reined Cow Horse Association judge, Laurie Petkus, is offering horsemanship classes to address challenging equine issues, build a solid foundation, and to reach sustainable goals.
Laurie has extensive experience with a lifetime of colt starting and finishing horses. She has trained and shown horses since the age of seven. She has worked and has shown numerous breeds of horses in English, Western, and Cow Horse competitions.
With cow horses, the flag is utilized as a training tool to enhance strength, flexibility and timing. This venue is being offered to augment and support the training of the cow horse in cutting, ranch horse, stock horse and western riding competition. Cross training techniques learned during the use of the flag will strengthen and supple the equine athlete. The rider will gain confidence and understanding. Horses of any age and experience have the potential for improvement.

· Understand what the judge is looking for and the nuances of gaining and losing credit.
· Learn how to emphasize their horse’s natural ability while working a cow.
· Execute AQHA Western Riding patterns and reining patterns.
· Learn basic dressage skills and theory.

“When I first saw Laurie ride, it was as though she dropped out of the sky
and onto the back of a galloping horse and they became one.”
